Welcome to our website!
The Island's Junior Chamber of Commerce is an
enthusiastic and active group with members of all ages, from a
diversity of backgrounds including trade, industry, commerce,
national or local government, agriculture or the professions.
The Junior Chamber has a Mission Statement this being: "To
promote high standards of leadership, integrity and fellowship
throughout all sectors of economic endeavour on the Isle of Man,
to inform protect and promote members' interests and foster an
environment of self development and community awareness for the
benefit of the Island as a whole."
As a member of the Junior Chamber you will have the opportunity
to become better informed, to develop your leadership potential
and to have a voice in shaping the Island's future. You can also
have a lot of fun!
AIMS
To provide members with an opportunity to
meet like-minded people from the 'world of qqwork' in the Isle
of Man;
To
identify and address topical issues affecting members and the
Isle of Man, and to qqformulate and promote the views and
opinions of our membership;
To
encourage self-development through training, education and
mutual support;
To
become a valued part of the Island's community by providing help
and advice to qqyoung people.
EVENTS
Each year the Junior
Chamber organises a range of events which fall into four
categories:
Business breakfasts
Monthly topical breakfast meetings featuring high profile
speakers, ranging from industrial and commercial leaders to
political figures and social personalities. The JCC aims to
provide an opportunity for you to find out about topical issues
first and to talk to directors and Ministers at the highest
level.
Social activities
Meet up with other JCC members, do something different and then
go for a meal! Activities planned for the forthcoming year
include: wine-tasting, clay-pigeon shooting, paitballing and
abseiling.
Industrial visits
With the JCC you can have a look behind the scenes of various
firms and organisations. Visits planned for the forthcoming year
include: the film studio, a brewery, a chocolate factory, the
new hospital and Tynwald.
Young Enterprise
Each year, students at local schools aged between 16 and 17 set
up and run their own Young Enterprise companies. The Junior
Chamber actively supports Young Enterprise by providing an
annual Management Games Evening which tests their ingenuity and
helps develop team skills.
All members are welcome to get involved if they would like to
